A £15 million development in 2015 transformed the gallery, doubling it in size and creating new spaces that embrace the park it calls home.
Yet although the Whitworth has opened a new chapter in its history, the organisation itself has a much broader story to tell.

All of The Whitworth’s front of house staff are Dementia Friends and have taken the Dementia Friend training. Alongside this, twice a year The Whitworth also host Dementia Champion days with and for Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust nursing staff.
