Ashmolean Museum

The Ashmolean is the University of Oxford’s museum of art and archaeology, founded in 1683. Our world famous collections range from Egyptian mummies to contemporary art, telling human stories across cultures and across time.

Open Tuesday to Sunday, and Bank Holiday Mondays, 10am–5pm. Admission is free.

We are proud to be an accessible venue. Our services and facilities allow all visitors to have a meaningful experience in the museum. Our front entrance, public galleries, restaurant and café are fully accessible. We have various processes in place, including wheelchair hire, to make the museum visit as enjoyable as possible for those with additional needs.
