Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra are delighted to reintroduce our live Cake Concerts; dementia-friendly events featuring musicians from the orchestra performing well-known classics for all to enjoy with a piece of cake, a hot drink and good company.
Specifically developed for people living with dementia, Cake Concerts are relaxed chamber performances in informal environments, combining classical repertoire with tea, cake and light chatter.
Accessing an evening concert can prove particularly challenging for those living with dementia and their carers. Cake Concerts cater to the needs of those people living with dementia.
Those in attendance will be treated to a mixture of classical and popular favourites performed by our Teatime Trio amidst the beautiful backdrop of the Rose Hall at The Spire in Poole. The venue is fully accessible and the performance is relaxed to allow everyone attending to feel at ease. During the concert, the musicians will introduce their instruments and repertoire between pieces whilst homemade cake and hot drinks will be served to all (for free) in both intervals.
All are welcome, whether living in the community or in care & residential settings.
