Culture& is pleased to invite you to a celebration of African Caribbean cultural heritage through sensory reminiscence with archival records, music and food in collaboration with the London Metropolitan Archives and the Friends of the Huntley Archives at LMA.

ACTIVITY PROGRAMME

The West Indian Front Room:
Artist Michael McMillan's iconic installation that recalls the best room in the Caribbean home of the 1960s

Caribbean Folk Music Workshop:
Flute, percussion, song and storytelling with Sandra Agard and Keith Waithe

Interactive Sound and Visual Archives:
Accessible recordings and documents from the Culture& and Huntley Archives

Homemade Caribbean Refreshments:
Tasty treats made with traditional ingredients, recalling classic Caribbean cuisine

This event celebrates the experience, memory and culture of the generation of Caribbean people who were invited to the UK, from the 1940s onwards, to rebuild the nation after the Second World War. We look forward to welcoming you.
