Relaxed Lunchtime Performance: Strings at the Albany
for participants
for carers

Strings at the Albany is the first instalment of CLS Minis: a spring series of miniature lunchtime and evening concerts, curated and performed by CLS musicians.
CLS Minis showcases our outstanding professional musicians in chamber music composed for strings, brass and wind instruments. Each concert allows you to experience live music closer than you can in a traditional classical concert, and our musicians bring their own insights and introductions.
Our two performances at the Albany feature members of the CLS string section in chamber music written especially for strings, including Company by Philip Glass and Serenade by Josef Suk. Principal Viola Fiona Bonds and Sub-principal Viola Ruth Gibson also perform George Benjamin’s viola duet, Viola, Viola.
Our lunchtime concert is a relaxed performance, open to everyone and creating a comfortable environment for people living with dementia and families or carers. It lasts 45 minutes and is perfect for people who benefit from being able to move around, and who may need to take a few minutes’ break in a dedicated quiet space.
CLS Minis is generously supported by John Singer.
