Participants should come at 10:15 for a 10:30 start.

This block of sessions will run on the following dates:
12th December 2018
19th December 2018

Then after the Christmas break, we will resume every Wednesday
From: 9th January 2019
Until: 13th March 2019

About the Singing Workshops:

The workshops will be co-run by Sarah, a professional singer (who often does the rounds on Dementia Wards in local hospitals) and Krystina, a qualified Speech and Language therapist.

The 12 week workshops are absolutely free, and both people with dementia and carers are welcome to join in these fun, relaxed sessions. Not to worry – no singing experience is necessary!

The aim of the sessions is to develop communication abilities and boost confidence. This is also a good opportunity to engage in a socially inclusive vital therapy, which many individuals do not currently have access to. The Speech & Language therapist will teach various exercises to strengthen the muscles in the mouth, and can give one-on-one feedback throughout the course of the workshops should participants have any specific needs. The professional singer will present and train songs that participants know (suggestions are welcome!), to encourage group singing and try to provoke warm memories.

Workshops are free, but places are limited! – Please get in contact to reserve a place.
