Music makes us move! Physiotherapy through Dance Workshops
for participants
for carers

Physiotherapy through Dance Workshops
will run on:
Wednesdays, from 14:30 – 15:30
Participants should come at 14:15 for a 14:30 start.
This block of sessions will run every Wednesday on the following dates:
From: 9th January 2019
Until: 27th March 2019
About the Dance Workshops:
The workshops will be co-run by Jennie and Maxine, two professional dancers who have experience in working with people with dementia, and Clare, a qualified physiotherapist.
The 12 week workshops are absolutely free, and both people with dementia and carers are welcome to join in these easy-going sessions. No dance experience necessary, just come with loose clothing and the will to shake a leg a little!
The aim of the sessions is to reduce the risk of trips and falls, and to use physiotherapy exercises through dance routines. The physiotherapist can give one-on-one feedback over the 12-week period, to advise participants on best practice for them. The professional dancers will practice dance movements, setting the therapy to music, to help boost self-esteem and activate bodily memory in an inclusive environment.
Workshops are free, but places are limited! – Please get in contact to reserve a place.
