Local History Cafés are community based heritage and wellbeing get-togethers for over 50s at risk of or experiencing social isolation or loneliness. Cafes involve sharing memories and life long learning, and each cafe is shaped by the interests of its participants.

Each month groups meet for tea & cake, a heritage presentation and often an activity.

All of our face to face programmes are postponed due to COVID 19, so we’ve moved Local History Cafe online, for all ages! Well, we recommend it’s for anyone aged 15 or over living in or with an interest in Leicester, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

Our fabulous admin team are setting up weekly programmes of activity including live-streamed heritage presentations, quizzes, photos of the week and links to other interesting radio programmes, articles or TV shows.
