A4D Inspirations from the Medicine Galleries at the Science Museum [This event has now ended]

Every Tuesday
02:00 PM – 04:00 PM
for participants
for carers

Arts 4 Dementia and the Science Museum are delighted to offer a 4-week programme of combined science and arts from the newly opened Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries.

You will benefit from a private view of this breath-taking presentation of the history of medical science. The workshops, led by experts from the Museum, will draw out creative skills in arts and crafts that you may have never realised you had.

Each session will focus on a different theme from the medicine galleries, highlighting some of the fascinating objects to explore the relationship between art and science. Participants will experiment with different creative practices, inspired by the marvellous stories showcased in the galleries.

The last 30 minutes of each workshop will be a time to reflect and socialise, with tea, coffee and refreshments available.

These workshops are aimed at those living with early-stage dementia, who are invited to attend with a companion - whether friend, family member or carer. No experience is required.

The workshops are on Tuesday afternoons.  They are free of charge and all materials are provided.
