The stars of the evening…

We are delighted to welcome the talents of Jessie Grimes, Justin Wilman, and Laura Reznek for this virtual concert.

Jessie Grimes, clarinettist.

A London based Irish clarinettist, Jessie balances a busy schedule performing as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, as well as a teacher, presenter and workshop leader. Alongside the Jacquin Trio she has won competitions including the Royal Overseas League and St Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competitions. She also enjoys a happy musical relationship with the Dr K Sextet, Ensemble Perpetuo, The Riot Ensemble and Ossian Ensemble. Jessie was such an inspiration leading our A4D Music workshop programme that we invited her back with her trio to appear at our A4D by the Canal event at Kings Place in 2016, where they stole the show. We are thrilled that she has agreed to open the evening.

Justin Wilman, multi-instrumentalist.

Justin is a multi-instrumentalist and performer. He has appeared as a soloist in concerts around the world, for Her Majesty the Queen in both 2006 and 2010 and at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2008. Pieces were specially commissioned for him to perform at the Mountbatten Festival of Music in the Royal Albert Hall three years in a row and he was featured on DECCA and NAXOS xanax no prescription pharmacy albums. In July 2011 Justin joined the lavish Cirque du Soleil production ZAiA in Macau, playing recorder, violin and Irish whistle whilst flying on ropes above the auditorium. Since returning to the UK in 2014 Justin has worked as an act or/musician on a growing number of productions. A hugely talented entertainer, we are honoured and delighted that he has agreed to play for us.

Laura Reznek, singer-songwriter.

Laura is a singer, songwriter, and pianist of folk-noir style. A self-professed observist and avid people-watcher, Laura’s music takes up issues of humans and humanity – spinning the ‘why’ of people, and what we do through insightful lyrics, swelling chords, and poignant melodies. Spinning stories of family, friends, and crowds, Laura’s neptunian orchestration lays bare the human condition in a way all of us can understand through our own lived experiences. Laura put on her own concert for A4D before disappearing to Canada in 2017. Laura blew us all away with her beautiful voice and soulful music and it is a joy to have her back.

Joe Bor, comedian.

‘Joe Bor is a must see’ – Alan Carr
Joe is a comedian and award-winning filmmaker and creator of comedy content. He has extensive experience working on comedy content in the television, internet and advertising industries and has worked with a range of TV companies including BBC, ITV, Hattrick, Talkback and Rough Cut. Joe has frequently performed as a warm-up for Graham Norton, Alan Carr, and Mock the Week. We are incredibly excited to have Joe as our host for the evening.

We will also be treated to a Christmas singalong led by Isabella Farrell, a Soprano with the BBC Symphony Chorus.  Isabella wowed our Chatty Wednesdays group with her voice in the summer. This A4D evening could not have been complete without her.
