Art for Memory is designed for people experiencing early stages of memory loss, whatever the reason. Run by an experienced tutor alongside a fantastic support worker, each week new creative skills are enjoyed including different methods of printmaking, water-colour painting, clay work and collage. Painting to music is a regular favourite and just as important as the art activity itself, we always have time for tea, coffee, biscuits and a jolly good chat! There is no expectation that members of the group have to take part in the planned activity, working on your own painting, honing your drawing skills and just enjoying being creative is actively encouraged and you will be supported to do this. Carers and family members are always most welcome to stay. ‘It’s a lovely place to come, have a laugh with friends and have a go at something arty – I am not very good but I do enjoy it’ was the feedback from one of our members.
