For 10 years, our Smiling Sessions offered live participatory, high quality singing experiences for older people in care homes and social housing in deprived areas of London. Our participatory singing sessions helped residents to become more integrated, stay healthy and keep active.

When Covid struck, we moved our sessions online; now it wasn’t just older people, but people of all ages who were cut off. We were keener than ever to harness the power of music and singing to support wellbeing and mental health.

In order to make our Sessions as accessible as possible, we have created an easy to use app – www.smilingsessions.com- where there is a video jukebox (with on screen lyrics) of all the songs we produce.

The sessions are performed by our fabulous professional musicians, Pete Baikie, Neil Herd and Alison Jones and we’re delighted to be joined in our second series by another wonderful line up of celebrity guest singers.

We hope that our weekly ‘celebrity’ sing a long Smiling Sessions will raise awareness of the power of song and the impact singing has on health, well-being and mindfulness, no matter what your age may be. We also want to build an awareness with the public of the terrible isolation many people are still experiencing.

Head over to our website for more information and to download the app, or get in touch on the details below.
