We’ve been running Dementia-Friendly screenings at Picturehouse since 2015. These screenings are open to all but cater especially for people living with dementia. The films are programmed with a focus on classic films and musicals.
Our Dementia Friendly Screenings aim to provide a fun and inclusive experience, they allow people with dementia and their carers to attend the cinema in a safe and comfortable environment.
These events are open to everyone, but are designed to suit the needs of people with dementia: The lights are left on low, there will be no adverts, and people are free to move around and take a break if needed. Wheelchair spaces are limited so please book in advance to make sure they are available.
